Funding

The question has been asked many times, "How can I help MT with their funding?" Hopefully, this information will assist individuals/companies/ organizations who have asked us this question. Any person/group wishing to make a donation to MT can do so by sending their contributions to MT. Checks would need to be made out to Mississippi Thespians. This will be placed directly in our MT account. If the donor wishes to denote a specific project that they wish their donation to go to, that is always honored.

We have a need for a portable sound system for our presentations. MT is in the process of preparing a slide presentation, so any equipment which would facilitate doing this would be appreciated. Another audio/visual item that is needed is a camcorder.

Some of the larger projects that our group is currently looking at would be a truck to transport our equipment trailer to presentations. It would be wonderful to have a 12 or 15 passenger van that could be used for taking our young people to scheduled events.

Our troupe has been the recipient of some large tents and period camp equipment that is very beneficial when we attend re-enactments or make our outdoor presentations. Since we are experiencing growth in our membership, we could certainly see more such bestowments as being very advantageous to MT.

Previously, we have enjoyed the kindness of people who have donated actual or reproduction Civil War items for our display cases. Many of the students in the schools where we present have never had the opportunity to visit a museum or even see a display of these items. You can imagine their excitement when they see these displays first hand.

For some of our new recruits who cannot procure period dress, we have some previously donated items that we can help them with. We are in real need of period clothing items, such caps/hats, shoes/boots, coats, pants, vests, suspenders/belts that these 'recruits' could use until they are able to get their own clothing. Please keep in mind that our young people range in sizes from 4th-12th grades.

Should you wish to contact us about any of these needs, please contact Roger Leach at the address or telephone listed below.

We thank you in advance for your generosity.
